Muscat

2017 BC BRITISH COLUMBIA WHITE WINE

10.2% alc. 750ml

The Orange Muscat grape is a relatively obscure grape variety, it is a cross between: Muscat Blanc a Petit Grains and Chasselas. Originating in Italy or France. The production of these grapes is mall and is usually now grown in the U.S. and Australia, but is also does well in cooler and wetter temperatures, Savoie in France and as far north as Siberia. Our Orange Muscat grapes are grown in our vineyard next to our winery in Richmond B.C.

VINTAGE REPORT:

2017 was a great year for grapes in the Okanagan. The growing season was without abnormalities and the grapes produced had exceptional flavor and balanced tannins with nice natural acidity, and beautiful complexity.

TASTING NOTES:

As its name hints, Orange Muscat has a distinctive and strong aroma of orange, its powerful aromatics also include orange blossom, apricot, pear and spicy fruit. It also shares some characteristics typical of the Muscat family of grapes. Our uniquely original Orange Muscat pairs well with chicken, risotto with butter squash, avocado salad and a variety of cheeses: blue cheese, Colby and gorgonzola.
